Junior Jenny Rosebaugh earned second place in sports photography with this photo at regional journalism on Feb. 26.
When Silver Lake High School was moved to 4A competition, some thought it could indicate an automatic loss. The competition was bigger and better, and some wondered if the students could handle the pressure. Some students, however, were not affected by the move. Journalism students are used to competing and succeeding on the 4A circuit. This year was no different.

Finding ways to save money has been a major priority in the Silver Lake school district. Because of the budget cuts that the district is facing, the board of education is taking necessary steps to save money. These steps include consolidating jobs and possibly eliminating some activities.
