Republican presidential candidate John McCain won the mock
election held at Silver Lake High School. Students in grades seven
through 12 voted today for national and local candidates.
The final voting numbers were as follows:
President - McCain, 147 votes; Barack Obama, 119 votes
U.S. Senate - Republican Pat Roberts, 160 votes; Democrat Jim
