NEA-Silver Lake to host chili supper

NEA-Silver Lake will be sponsoring a chili/soup supper on Friday, Jan. 28 in the Silver Lake High School commons area. Chili and soup with crackers, relish, dessert and drinks will be served from 4:45 p.m. to 7 p.m.
That night, the Eagles take on Wamego, and the King and Queen of Winter Sports ceremony will occur during halftime of the varsity boys' basketball game.
Profits from this annual event fund scholarships which are given to graduating seniors each spring in recognition and support of their pursuit of higher educational goals.
For more than 25 years, the teachers' organization has aided young men and women in their pursuit of higher education.
