The concert is co-sponsored by the Civic Music Club of Topeka and Washburn University. Dr. Ann Marie Snook will MC the event, which has been held annually for over 26 years.
McGough has had a lot of past experience with this concert.
She said,"It's always a little shaky because it's the first concert of the year."
Tickets are $4 at the concert hall. Children 11 and under are admitted free. All proceeds go for music scholarships at Washburn University. After this benefit concert, the select choir will be gearing up for their winter concert on Dec. 15 at Silver Lake High School in the Performing Arts Center.
