The Silver Lake Junior High athletes work hard to achieve all that they do on the field, on the court, and on the mats. The junior high wrestlers won several tournaments and boasted numerous champions and placers this season.

On Nov. 17, the wrestlers welcomed Emporia and Santa Fe Trail at home to tussle on the mats. Joe Priddy, Trevor Bowers, Britt Dewey, Tyler Roth, Cameron Lambert, and Brett LaMar went undefeated. Silver Lake dominated, achieving first place as a school.

On Nov. 19, they traveled to Rossville. There were five champions at this tourney: Roth, Bowers, LaMar, Casey Swartz, and Tyler Smith. Preston Runnebaum placed second, Priddy, Lambert, and Kevin Taylor achieved third and Frankie Workman placed fourth. Additionally, Smith pinned three opponents in the first period.

On Nov. 21, their next meet took them to Royal Valley where they lead again against Effingham and Royal Valley. LaMar and Roth remained undefeated. Lambert and Swartz went home with no losses.

Their next event was at home versus Lansing and Lawrence West. They still dominated, with eight invincible grapplers. Roth and Priddy both beat state placers and Cooper Rickle won in the first dual.

The concluding match of the season was in Silver Lake on Nov. 28. The boys finished out the season well. Roth finished with a 21-0 season. The boys who finished with a winning record for the season were Roth, LaMar, Bowers, Cody Johnson, Priddy, Tyler Smith, Taylor, Elliot Cray, Dewey, James Moorehead, Lambert, Swartz, Workman, and Rosebaugh.
