Friday the 13th was a lucky day for seniors Evan Malloy and Jayme Lindstrom. They were crowned Homecoming King and Queen on Oct. 13.

The crowning ceremony occurred before the football game against the Oskaloosa Bears. The Eagles defeated the Bears with a 48-0 win.

New this year to the Homecoming activities was the Hobo Hoco, in which representatives were randomly chosen from the junior, sophomore, and freshman classes. The Hobo Hoco candidates competed against each other through fundraising efforts. The Student Council profited from the fundraising. Altogether, the three classes raised about $200 for StuCo.

The representatives were juniors Calvin Smith and Heather Rakestraw, sophomores Dustin Gauntt and Britney Workman, and freshmen Lucas Mitchell and Karlee Brunner. The sophomores won the fundraising contest, so Gauntt and Workman competed with the Homecoming candidates during the activities at the pep rally and the rode in a shopping cart in the parade.
