NHS inducts new members

The Silver Lake Honor Club chapter of the National Honor Society at Silver Lake High School will induct 13 new members in a ceremony to be held Wednesday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at the high school.
According to Alan Cunningham, NHS sponsor, the four attributes for membership are character, scholarship, leadership and service. Minimum scholarship qualifications at SLHS are determined by cumulative grade point average and are as follows: 3.40 for juniors and 3.30 for seniors. (Freshmen and sophomores are not eligible for NHS membership at SLHS). The faculty then based its selections, weighing each student's merit in the areas of character, leadership and service.
Among this year's inductees are seniors Danielle Bulson, daughter of Patty and Scott Hough; Nick deSouza, son of Bonnie and Jeff Chockley; Breanna Howser, daughter of Debora and Kevin Howser; Marty Pfannenstiel, son of Rita and Larry Pfannenstiel; Brooke Stebbins, daughter of Samantha and Mitch Sharon and Rich Stebbins; and Keaton Taylor, son of Jacque and Mark Taylor.
The junior class inductees are Josh Baden, son of Kay and Andy Baden; Jordan Lambert, son of Lesa and George Lambert; Amanda Pfannenstiel, daughter of Nancy and Bobby Pfannenstiel; Austin Roberson, son of Kim and Rodney Roberson; Paulina Rudolph, daughter of Yang and Edsel Rudolph; Jaimie Tosh, daughter of Kellie Johnson and Clint Tosh; and Sara Wetzel, daughter of Sharon and Orville Wetzel.
Current members of the Silver Lake National Honor Society are Bailey Altman, Austin Blush (secretary), Courtney Brokaw (vice president), Christina Carter, Caitlin Grant, Brian Hill (StuCo representative), Jayme Lindstrom, Shannon Lindstrom, Nicolas Miller (president) and Calla Monkes (treasurer).
