Tradition has been a legacy that Silver Lake has followed for many years. This year, the football team continued the legacy by qualifying for the state competition for the fifth year in a row.
With the defeat of Sabetha on Friday, 45-17, Silver Lake will now face the Garden Plain Owls (12-1). The game will be held Saturday, Nov. 25 in Salina at the USD #305 District Stadium (650 E. Crawford St.). Kickoff time will be at 1 p.m. Adult tickets are $6 and student tickets are $5.
This year's seniors will be competing at state for the fourth year in a row. Senior Keaton Taylor commented on what he expects to get out of the game.
"The team this year has been very united and dedicated. I believe the seniors will make their mark," Taylor said.
