December 04, 2006
If the academic arena awarded state championship titles, Silver Lake would be a definite contender.
According to Steve Pegram, superintendent, the 2006 "Standard of Excellence" results were recently released.
Pegram said as a district, Silver Lake achieved 12 standards of excellence out of a possible 14 opportunities. He said that in the two areas that did not reach a standard of excellence, the overall test results were outstanding.
"The results would not be possible without the time and effort put into ensuring that our students are prepared for these assessments," he said.
The following areas achieved standards of excellence: reading at the third, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth and 11th grade levels; and math at the third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and 10th grade levels.
