Determination, gusto, anticipation, and a crowning; the King and Queen of Winter Sports events are right around the corner. The student body has voted, and this year's candidates are Caitlin Grant, Emy Ladner, Jill Lira, Jason Corwin, Brian Hill, and Chad Ray.

Each candidate is currently taking part in activities to prepare for the candidate video, generated by the high school video production staff. This video will be displayed to the students and candidates' family members on Friday, Jan. 26 at 11 a.m. The video will have a "Friends" theme.

Directly following the video, students will return to their classes and vote for the King and Queen. The ceremony to announce this year's royalty will be held at halftime of the boys' varsity game against Wamego on Jan. 26.

Preceding the Friday events will be a James Bond spirit week. On Monday, all high school students are encouraged to costume themselves in a "Foreign Affairs" outfit (i.e. England, Japan, Hawaii, India, etc.). On Tuesday you may dress up as your favorite character or villain (i.e. Baron, Zao, Jaws, James Bond, etc.). Wednesday will be a "Black Tie Affair," or formal wear. Thursday is "The Master of Disguise" day. Ending the spirit week will be Maroon and Gold Day on Friday.
