"I was really honored when I qualified to nationals this year because I had never qualified to nationals before, and it was exciting to have so many of us get qualified, too," she said.

Cross said that it was very stressful trying to get qualified as a freshman, but she's ecstatic that she has her squad's support.

"I am very excited to be qualified to nationals as a freshman. It was a little intimidating, but I worked hard in order to get there, and I hope to do okay when I'm there. I'm also excited to have so many people with me there, too," she said.

The other students at the qualifier who just missed getting to the national CFL tournament were Brooke Brennan, Cameron Lambert, Jordan Lambert, and Jill Lira.

With CFL behind the squad, they have now moved on to the NFL qualifiers listed below, which would afford students a trip to Wichita to face the toughest competition from across the country.
