U.S.D. 372 BOARD OF EDUCATION

 

Special Meeting
September 19, 2007

 

Members Present: Susan Runyan, Sam Grant, Clint Wichman, Cindy Hill, Cindy Hawkins, Ron Yoder, and Randy Matzke.

 

Others Present:  Dr. Randy Freeman, Superintendent; Larry Winter, Jr./Sr. High Principal; Jim Lindstrom, Assistant Principal; Ronda Pegram, Elementary Principal; Lori Campbell, Board Clerk; and Brad Womack, Acting Mediator.

 

Call to Order: Runyan called the meeting to order at 6:00p.m.

 

A1 Personnel Matters

 

Executive Session: At 6:04 p.m. the BOE moved to go into executive session for the purpose of discussing personnel matters for non-elected personnel and that the board returned to the open meeting at 6:19 o'clock in this room. The executive session is required due to protect the privacy interests of an identifiable individual. Hawkins made the motion to enter executive session and Wichman with the second. 7-0

 

The board returned to the regular meeting at 6:20 p.m.

 

At 6:21 p.m. a motion was made by Hill to return to the executive session for 5 minutes and Grant seconded. 7-0

 

The board returned to the regular meeting at 6:27 p.m.

 

A2  Board/Administrator Goal Setting Session

 

Goal One: Maintain and enhance educational excellence in the school district by providing the resources necessary for continuous improvement of the educational staff and academic programs.

Goal Two: Develop a facilities security plan.

Goal Three: Continue to enhance the integration of technology into the instructional programs and communication systems of the district.

Goal Four:  Improve communications between the school district and the community.

Goal Five: Recruit and retain Highly Qualified Faculty and staff.

 

Adjournment:  At 9:22 p.m. Matzke made the motion to adjourn the meeting with Yoder making the second. 7-0
