The Silver Lake Honor Club chapter of the National Honor Society inducted 20 new members on Wednesday, Nov. 7.
NHS members are juniors and seniors who are nominated and voted into the club based on four attributes: character, scholarship, leadership, and service.
Their scholarship is determined by their overall grade point average. Seniors are required to maintain a 3.40 G.P.A. and juniors must maintain a 3.50.
The faculty then selects who they feel shows merit in character, leadership, and service.
The following seniors were inducted into the NHS this year: Chelsea Campbell, Jordan Lockwood, Michelle Taylor, and Codi Spiker.
The following juniors were inducted: Jenna Yoder, Abby Baden, Adam Wetzel, Quin Bruce, Jessica Stadler, Alex Hawkins, Josh Rosebaugh, Heather Herrmann, Kayla Augustine, Britney Workman, Derek Bledsoe, Steph Tosh, Dustin Campbell, Chelsey Spiker, Tony Hawkins, and Jay McDaniel.
Members who were inducted last year include Josh Baden, Jordan Lambert, Paulina Rudolph, Austin Roberson, Amanda Pfannenstiel, Jaimie Tosh, and Sara Wetzel. Alan Cunningham is the NHS sponsor.
