Eagles are state bound again
Silver Lake making sixth straight appearance
November 19, 2007
Warm up those buses. The Eagles are headed to state...again.
On Friday, the Eagles faced a familiar sub-state opponent: Rossville. For the fifth time in the last six years, the Eagles and the Dawgs met at the sub-state level. And, the outcome has always been the same: an Eagle victory. Silver Lake dominated Rossville this year with a final score of 42-0.
As the Eagles and the Dawgs were battling it out, Garden Plain took on Conway Springs. Ironically, the final score was the same as the Silver Lake vs. Rossville game: 42-0. Garden Plain emerged as the victor.
Silver Lake and Garden Plain both boast 13-0 records going into the state game. Class 3A state football will be in Hutchinson at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24. Ticket prices for state are $6 for adults and $5 for students kindergarten through 12th grade.
