SILVER LAKE PTO MINUTES
NOVEMBER 26, 2007
7:00 P.M.
The meeting was called to order by President Tonia Schuckman at
7:01 p.m.
Present: Janice Bates, Traci Dultmeier, Lori Hogle, Brenda Immenschuh, Lori Klein, Becky Lindstrom, Nancy Matzke, Julie McDaniel, Deidre Michael, Jenni Miller, Ronda Pegram, Tonia Schuckman, Beverly Strausbaugh, and Pam Wolfley.
Lori Hogle discussed the upcoming Breakfast with Santa. Helpers are still needed. She gave a run down of the items still needed for donations and a sheet was passed around if anyone wished to bring the items still needed. Lori has flyers that she is distributing around town.
Lori Klein discussed the upcoming fundraiserof sweatshirts. Lori is just waiting on the artwork to come back in.
Discussed and approved no meetingfor December due to the holidays. The next meeting is scheduled for January 28th, with a teacher work night at 6:00 p.m.
Julie McDaniel discussed Gambino’s pizza cards. She is currently working on this and will start the fundraiser in January. The free pizzas will be tentatively set for the months of January, February and March 2008.
Discussed authorscoming in to talk with the students for another assembly. Mrs. Pegram will talk to Mrs. Wolf about this.
Nancy Matzke discussed a having a Scrap/Cropas a possible fundraiser to be held in January or February. She will work with Paula Cobb on this. They are looking into having vendors come in during the day long crop and having prizes for those attending. Discussed contacting Silver Lake residents who sell this line of merchandise to be included in this fundraiser. Possible fee for crop is $20 per person.
Ronda Pegram discussed a fundraising idea that Vicky Swann gave her. It is a gift card fundraiserwith a certain % from each gift card (varies per store) going back to the school. Jenny Miller volunteered to check into this.
Ronda Pegram gave an update on the constructionprocess. Fencing will go up behind the grade school to keep kids off of the playground equipment and the back of the school. The south doors will be the drop-off and pick-up locations for all students 1st through 6th grade. The playground equipment company will give the district detailed information on how they plan to move and reset the newest piece of equipment and still maintain its warranty. Lori Klein will put this information in the December newsletter.
Received a thank you card from the 5th grade class for the donation of money to the Accelerated Reading Store.
Received a thank you note from Superintendent Randy Freeman for the
t-shirt.
Discussed an approved the purchase of a small tree and ornaments for Superintendent Randy Freeman as a gift since his family is not with him at this time.
The Treasurer’s Report was given by Pam Wolfley:
Current Treasury balance is: $2306.81 checking account
Interest earned on CD: $568.96
T-shirt Fundraiser profit: $1049.00
Tonia Schuckman adjourned the meeting around 7:45 p.m.
