Friday's football game draws media attention

Besides the “War on 24,” there is another football game getting a lot of attention. This Friday, Oct. 3, Silver Lake takes on St. Marys. Both teams are undefeated and both are hoping to keep it that way.

The fact that neither team has lost this year is drawing attention to the game. Another main reason is the fact that if the Eagles can beat the Bears, it will be head coach C.J. Hamilton’s 300th win.

Only two other coaches in the state of Kansas have achieved this feat. KTKA, Channel-49 TV, is providing some of the food for the after-prom tailgate party prior to the game as well as broadcasting highlights of the game Friday night.

Along with the TV broadcast, the game will also be covered by Radio Rich & Louann on their “Game Day Friday” on radio station 102.9/US 103. The Silver Lake cheerleaders will perform a cheer on-air and will hand out donuts to people walking and driving by the station from 7 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. Hamilton will also do a live, over-the-phone interview with US 103 after 7 a.m.
