Kriss, Albers place in local spelling bee

Kenzie Kriss, fifth-grader, won the Silver Lake spelling bee on Jan. 28.
Codey Albers, seventh-grader, took second. With their victories, Kriss and Albers earned spots in the County Spelling Bee in Topeka on Feb. 21.
According to Larry Winter, junior high principal, 54 students from third grade through eighth grade competed in the spelling bee. Each grade level was represented by nine spellers.
