Homecoming candidates, activities announced

This year for the first time, Homecoming will have eight candidates instead of six like in previous years. There are four boys and four girls instead of having only three boys and three girls. Silver Lake Student Council decided to make Homecoming bigger by adding another pair of candidates and doing away with King and Queen of Courts (Winter Royalty).

Our candidates this year are boys: Drake Pino, Joe Priddy, Brady Abrahams, and Jace Lowe. The girls are: Randi Richards, Bailey Krogman, Amanda Lewis, and Kailey Priddy.

All high school students voted during seminar on Friday, Aug 28 for the candidates out of a list of all seniors. On Oct 9, there will be a video featuring all candidates. Also, all grade school and high school students will get out of school around 1:00 to go and watch the parade. After that, there will be a pep rally at the football field where the candidates will compete in various activities. That night before the football game against Riley County, a king and queen will be crowned. Then following the game, there will be a dance for all high school students.
