"Eagle Mascot" contest in full swing
September 24, 2008
The Silver Lake school district needs a new eagle mascot design.
According to Larry Winter, junior high/high school principal, anyone who wishes to design an original eagle may enter the contest. He said all entries must be submitted in color on 18" x 24" paper. Entries are due to the high school office by 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 1.
A panel of judges including representatives from the Booster Club, PTO, and the Silver Lake faculty will narrow the field down to three.
Students in grades seven through 12 will vote on the three finalists. The one selected will be recommended to the USD 372 Board of Education at the October meeting.
The designer of the winning entry will receive a packet of tickets for Silver Lake events along with concession coupons.
